411 Seniors Centre Update and Closure Announcement

Dear 411 members, volunteers, supporters, and friends,

The new year is not starting out as we had hoped. On December 22, 2021, a new
BC Provincial Health Order was announced. This restricted all indoor gatherings and
events. This order is in effect until January 18th, 2022, at this point.

With massively escalating positive cases of COVID-19, caused by the variant of
concern omicron, and with people’s safety at the forefront we have made the difficult
decision to drastically reduce the operations at the 411 Seniors Centre Society
during this current COVID wave of infections.

Vaccinations, especially the 3rd booster shot, provide the best protection according to
the BC Provincial Health Officer. However, many in our community are still waiting
for this booster shot, including the small 411 staff team. We have recently had a staff
member test positive. To ensure the safety of the 411 members, volunteers,
clientele, and staff we are taking the following actions:

The centre will be closed from January 10-21st.

Staff will be working from home and responding remotely.

If you have a question, need information & referral assistance, have a concern, or
worry, or just simply need someone to connect with, 411 is here for you. The 411
staff, working with board members and volunteers, are implementing the following
methods for you to get in touch with us:

By telephone: Call 604-684-8171 and leave a message.

Our telephone voice message will also provide current updates on our operations.
